PHILIP WARP / STREET PHOTOGRAPHER, BROOKLYN, NYC

Philip Warp is a street photographer based in Brooklyn, New York.

He is originally from Florence, Italy, where he was born and lived for 17 years before moving to New York.

His passion for night photography came from an urgency to discover a different side of New York City. A more intimate and introvert side of the city.
Hiding under his umbrella, Philip quietly observes and documents the silence and the energy of the night, the inhabitants of the city, and their emotions.
Unique of his style is the way he leverages his umbrella to manipulate light and compose his photos.

Rain, umbrellas, dark and elusive figures, reflections of light, and vivid colors are all elements that prevail in all of his photos.

For Philip, the city is a universe of vivid colors that only exists in his mind. His photos are a way for him to bring to life his visions.

TERRY LEUNG / STREET PHOTOGRAPHER, SYDNEY

I have been taking photos on and off for more than 35 years, for a while as a professional. Street photography is my latest venture, and I find it extremely rewarding as just a hobby.

I grew up with all those old masters: Doisneau, Bresson, Frank, Winogrand, Arbus...I'm sure they always live in the back of my head (and the amazing Maier.)

However, what I am really inspired to is the "newer" styles carried by Saul Leiter, Gueorgui Pinkhassov, Alex Webb and Dougie Wallace.

I don’t have a bright view of the world. SP is like stars in the dark sky, It allows me to find the bright spots in the vast black canvas.

I am a Sydney photographer, but I always walk in the various suburbs instead of CBD alone.

I just started a Youtube channel, I find filming and editing are very intriguing (even just how-to, and solo-man-job). The only problem is I don’t get enough free time out from my day (with night shifts) job.
